Joe's loyal dog, Lassie, must be sold to a new owner when Joe's dad loses his job. But Lassie cannot bear to be apart from her young
companion. She escapes from her new home hundreds of miles away, facing danger and starvation so she can see her real family again.
(In the book, Lassie goes back to Joe twice before she's shipped off to remote Scotland. Then, for her third and final journey, she must travel the furthest to get home.) __________________________________________________________________________

Beautiful, moving and faithful. These are the words that come to mind after reading the reviews of the new Lassie film. It is about a faithful dog and is faithful to the book by Eric Knight. The setting in 1938 Scotland makes for a beautiful and enchanting environment for this emotional story. Many reviewers mentioned being moved to tears. A dogowner myself, I'll be getting the tissue box ready to watch this one.
A dogowner myself, I'll be getting the tissue box ready to watch this one. The classic book is a sweet tale for kids and adults alike. Even sweeter is that it's inspired by a real dog.
Lassie - what a classic! I remember watching Lassie growing up (Benji too!) and I miss these adorable heroes. I'm looking forward to seeing this puppy on the big screen again and sharing her with my kids too. Perhaps Benji will make a comeback too....
